My DCMA: Stepheny Finnie, program manager

By Tonya Johnson DCMA Public Affairs

FORT LEE, Va. Mar. 15, 2017— My DCMA showcases the Defense Contract Management Agency’s experienced and diverse workforce and highlights what being a part of the national defense team means to them. Today we meet Stepheny Finnie.

My name is Stepheny Finnie, and this is “My DCMA.”

I am a program manager in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at DCMA headquarters.

My job duties include developing the DCMA exit survey, providing metrics and measurement updates to the Federal Employment Opportunity Recruitment Program Plan Certificate, and assisting in implementation of areas within the DCMA Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan.

I have been a part of the agency team for six years.

I like working here because our diverse workforce provides a wealth of knowledge in the field of diversity and inclusion as we have all four generations working side-by-side —traditionalists, baby boomers, Generation X and millennials.

I am the independent eyes and ears for the Department of Defense because I monitor the pulse of DCMA through comprehensive diversity training at the request of divisions and contract management offices, as well as for most of our DLEAD 201 training, which are supervisory leadership development courses.

I provide actionable acquisition insight to DoD by addressing the areas of collaboration, flexibility and fairness that enable agency employees to participate to their full potential.

DCMA is important to America’s warfighters because we not only have a strong acquisition workforce, but our support areas also provide an array of expertise that enhances our ability to recruit, hire, promote and retain a more diverse workforce. This results in a one team, one voice support for our warfighters.
