OASIS allows agency to shift resources to more high-risk areas

By Tonya Johnson DCMA Public Affairs

The Online Aerospace Supplier Information System, or OASIS, provides up-to-date quality management system contractor certification information, allows for customer and supplier monitoring, and provides feedback to certifying auditors.

By using this system, the Defense Contract Management Agency is using standards already set by industry and audits already conducted, saving taxpayer money by not duplicating tasks already done. This allows the DCMA workforce to focus on high-risk tasks to help America’s warfighters.

OASIS allows the agency to use third-party surveillance data for risk actualization and reduction. This initiative also supports the Defense Department’s Better Buying Power and Superior Supplier Incentive programs. By using OASIS, DCMA is better able to analyze supplier risk, thereby improving contractor insight and capability analysis.
