My DCMA: Kimberly Reeves, Army assignments program manager

By Tonya Johnson DCMA Public Affairs

My DCMA showcases the Defense Contract Management Agency’s experienced and diverse workforce and highlights what being a part of the national defense team means to them. Today we meet Kimberly Reeves.

My name is Kimberly Reeves, and this is “My DCMA.”

I am the Army assignments program manager in the Total Force Directorate at DCMA headquarters at Fort Lee.

I am responsible for managing the assignments and reassignments for all Army personnel. I submit requisitions, nomination packets, and maintain various statistics that show gains, losses, requisitions, and prioritizations for military personnel.

As an Army assignments program manager, I review and verify the requests for personnel actions, such as retirements, extensions, separations and curtailments. I identify the requirements for those requested actions and determine a service member’s eligibility according to the appropriate Army regulations. I also maintain and share my current knowledge and changes of Army regulations to our regional military personnel liaison officers.

I have been a part of the DCMA team for one year. I like working at DCMA because I enjoy serving our military service members and their families. It is also a plus to be a part of a great team like military personnel that exhibits and maintains the knowledge, skills, and abilities to produce timely and quality work.

DCMA is important to America’s warfighters because we support the Department of Defense’s vision and mission. We provide our warfighters with the quality products to get their jobs done.

As DCMA celebrates its 20th anniversary, I hope that we continue to be the eyes and ears of DoD while delivering products and supporting our customers around the world with excellent service and integrity. We are one team, one voice. I also hope that our agency will continue to develop agile business practices, which will optimize our mission execution and support.

Some of the great things about working at my location include being close to great beaches, national parks, and enjoying different entertainment venues in the local area.

My future career goals include remaining teachable, maintaining my integrity, and always serving with excellence because that will take you far in life.

My favorite hobbies include reading a good book while sitting on my deck enjoying the sunshine, riding my bicycle and watching a good action movie with my family. Something unique about me is I have traveled around the world participating in foreign missions.
