Agency announces new vision

By DCMA Public Affairs

The Defense Contract Management Agency adopted a new vision statement March 1; to be “A team of trusted professionals delivering value to our Warfighters throughout the acquisition lifecycle.”

The statement is based on Army Lt. Gen. David Bassett’s remarks during an agency-wide meeting held in January. The DCMA director outlined his views of where the Defense Department agency needed to evolve to meet future mission and workforce requirements.

“These words summarize a great deal of thought,” said Bassett, “and place added importance on the contributions of each or our valued team members.” Read The DCMA Vision here.

The director said the vision will be an essential part of agency planning. “Our vision will set the tone for later this month, as our leadership team assembles to create a new strategic plan for fiscal year 2022-2026,” said Bassett, who called on the agency to “make 2022 a year of action, and DCMA an agency that delivers the most value to our customers, driven by a culture that delivers the most value to our employees.”

DCMA has approximately 11,500 employees, working in locations around the world. The agency oversees more than 232,166 active defense contracts, with a total value of $4.55 trillion, on behalf of Defense Department customers and other federal agencies.
