My DCMA: Breton Wilbun, information technology specialist

By Matthew Montgomery DCMA Public Affairs

My DCMA showcases the Defense Contract Management Agency's experienced and diverse workforce and highlights what being a part of the national defense team means to them. Today we meet Breton Wilbun.

My name is Breton Wilbun and this is My DCMA.

I am an information technology specialist for the DCMA 360 Program Management Office located at the Rivers Bend, Virginia, office as part of the IT Directorate, and I've been part of the agency team for about six years.

My job duties are to provide program management for DCMA 360, which includes the management of various projects on the platform for upgrades, system enhancements and customer developments. This includes the development of training, communications, and change management to ensure our customers – DCMA employees – have the collaboration platform they need to do their jobs and provide acquisition insight that matters.

I like working at DCMA because there are plenty of areas where I can make a difference. Because we do so much and touch on so many areas, I'm afforded the opportunity every day to share what I know from previous jobs and experiences to help make a difference here. I also get to work with some really smart and talented people that help grow and mold me into something better. The opportunities to help and grow at DCMA are limitless.

I am the independent eyes and ears for the agency because I work to ensure the products we buy and produce are meeting our customer's needs.

I provide actionable acquisition insight to the Department of Defense by working with others to provide a collaboration platform helping DCMA to collaborate, communicate, and flow information to the right people and places to make the difference and make it happen.

DCMA is important to America's warfighters because we work in so many different areas; from engineering, to quality, to contracts. We share our knowledge gained from our work with multiple contractors on multiple programs and with our DoD partners to provide a holistic view of contractor performance, costs and capability. The collective insight DCMA has is far reaching and an exceptional value for our warfighter today and tomorrow. What we've experienced before and learned today can be applied to tomorrow's contracts for added savings and increased value, thus providing more bullets, beans and band aids for our warfighters. That's something to be proud of. The collective acquisition insight that DCMA is capable of providing is exactly what our warfighters need.
