AcqDemo pay-band system is coming for many

DCMA Human Capital

On Jan. 22, 2017, all Defense Contract Management Agency non-bargaining unit employees will be transitioning to the Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project, better known as AcqDemo. That gives the approximately 2,000 employees who will be affected roughly four months to get ready.

Beginning this week, DCMA Human Capital will notify affected employees with dates, locations and related travel information they’ll need to attend a required training session. The first of these will be in mid-October.

“One of the most important parts of a smooth AcqDemo transition will be training,” said Chris Zubof, DCMA Human Capital Strategic Learning Division director, who is coordinating the training efforts. “We’re making every effort to identify central locations and dates that will accommodate everyone.”

AcqDemo is a pay-banded, pay-for-performance system designed to retain, motivate and reward employees for their many contributions.

“I’m excited about what this new personnel system will bring to our agency,” said Air Force Lt. Gen. Wendy Masiello, DCMA director. “It’s another step in keeping us an attractive and rewarding place to work and a respected part of the greater acquisition community.”

Zubof said the “primary importance in the coming weeks is for supervisors to support their people in the training process.”
