Emergency-Essential Job Opportunities in DCMA

DCMA has an ongoing need to hire qualified administrative contracting officers, property administrators, and quality assurance personnel to fill Emergency Essential (EE) positions. Currently, recruitment efforts are focusing on the following Series/Grades: GS 1102-11 and 12 positions, and GS 1103-11 and 12 positions, as well as GS 1910-11 and 12 positions.

EE positions offer a unique opportunity to support U.S. military forces engaged in combat or crisis situations. The positions are based at various DCMA Contract Management Offices throughout the continental United States. All positions require deployment overseas to support U.S. military forces engaged in combat or crisis situations, with current deployments focused in the U.S. Central Command area of operations. Please note all applicants should possess a DAWIA Level II certification.

The initial commitment, for an EE position is three years. However, at the end of the three year commitment, EEs may extend or be placed in an available position at their non-deployed series and grade.

EE selection is determined by a panel at HQ DCMA consisting of Division, Contract Management Office (CMO), and Combat Support Center (CSC) members. When external (new to DCMA) selections are made, they are placed at the closest CMO to their current residence. Internal selectees will remain at their current CMO in an EE capacity.

Current incentives for EE employment are:

  • A 25% hiring incentive based on the adjusted rate of pay that is tied to deployment (Pay cap is currently $212,000; may be raised to $220,000)
  • Upon deployment, a temporary promotion is given, if the time in grade at the lower grade is met
  • Danger Pay
  • Foreign Post Differential
  • Overtime
  • Sunday Pay
  • Holiday Pay
  • Night Differential
