Women's Equality Day
Defense Contract Management Agency

America produced more than 300,000 planes during WWII. Ninety percent of which were delivered from the factory to the armed services by women. At the time, these pilots were contractors who received no service-connected benefits despite their passion to serve our nation and contribute to the war effort.

Seventy-three years later, Defense Contract Management Agency's military pilots continue to carry on the proud tradition of delivering aircraft to the warfighter. We commemorate Women’s Equality Day on August 26. It is a good time to look toward the past to honor the countless women who served important roles in America’s victories, and also toward the future, as we continue to pursue equality for all.

In this video, we visited the U.S. Army Women's Museum at U.S. Army Fort Lee to speak with Dr. Francoise Bonnell about these heroes.
