The timeline for the Permanent Duty Travel (PDT) Team to complete the travel orders is 10 business days from the date the order writers receive the final documentation from the employee, AST, or the AO (if the employee has requested an exception to policy that requires approval). In accordance with the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR), an employee should have their travel orders NLT 30 days prior to their estimated reporting date to the new Permanent Duty Station (PDS), unless a shorter time is mutually agreed to by the manager and employee. Please note that a Reporting Date is not the same as the Entrance on Duty (EOD) date. A Reporting Date is determined by using the EOD and adding travels days from the old PDS to the new PDS; any leave enroute; and any TDY enroute.
