How To Make A FOIA Request

The mission of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is to provide Contract Administration Services to the Department of Defense Acquisition Enterprise and its partners. If you are seeking records pertaining to a Department of Defense (DoD) contract award (i.e., the actual contract and/or modifications, request for proposal, etc.) please request the information directly from the issuing military branch or DoD component who issued the contract/RFP. For your convenience, a listing of principal FOIA contacts is located at the Department of Defense's open government website. If you are seeking contract administration records for contracts administered by DCMA, or if you are seeking other DCMA records, you can submit a FOIA request by email or US mail. To submit a request by email, send to dcma.gregg-adams.hq.mbx.dcma-foia@mail.mil. To send a FOIA request by US mail, label your request “Freedom of Information Act Request”, preferably within the request letter and on the envelope, and mail to:

Due to civilian personnel furloughs in the Department of Defense beginning July 8, 2013, FOIA requesters may notice delays in responses to FOIA requests from the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) FOIA Requester Service Centers. We apologize for these delays; however, please be assured that the DCMA FOIA staff is committed to providing quality customer service during this time. Thank you for your patience.

Prior to submitting your request, please ensure the following requirements are met:

  • Request must include a postal mailing address, regardless of the way it was submitted.
  • Include your name, address, telephone number, and a statement of the records being sought, identified as specifically as possible.
  • Request must be for Agency records; the FOIA is NOT a research service, therefore no questions are answered under the FOIA.
  • State your willingness to pay applicable fees. See FOIA FAQs for more information.
