FORT LEE, Va. - Teams are working now to improve Defense Contract Management Agency business processes at the agency’s Rivers Bend facility, not far from the Fort Lee headquarters.
“The Process Working Group represents a collaborative strategic shift for the agency as we move toward greater levels of continuous improvement and process agility,” said Nick Verna, who is leading two initiatives under goal two of DCMA’s Strategic Plan. Verna is deputy director of DCMA Lockheed Martin Moorestown in New Jersey, but for now he’s on temporary assignment as the program manager of the PWG.
“Going forward, the PWG will help us put a much greater emphasis on creating Lean business processes at DCMA. The net result is an agency which can better manage its resources, execute its mission more effectively, and ultimately provide acquisition insight that matters to the Department of Defense.”
