SPRINGFIELD, N.J. –
My DCMA showcases the Defense Contract Management Agency’s experienced and diverse workforce and highlights what being a part of the national defense team means to them. Today we meet Maura Walsh.
My name is Maura Walsh, and this is My DCMA.
I am a contracts supervisory team leader at DCMA Springfield in New Jersey.
My job duties include managing a team of contract administrators and administrative contracting officers. I am responsible for planning, supervising, managing and leading activities of employees for post award administration, pricing and negotiation, contract payment, funding and contract closeout.
I have been a part of the DCMA team for eight years.
I like working at DCMA because readiness of the United States military has always been a priority of mine. Having served in the Army, it makes me proud to continue delivering products and services via actionable acquisition insight from the factory floor to the front line and around the world.
I am the independent eyes and ears for the Department of Defense because I am primarily responsible for ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures across the team for assigned areas of expertise. I am ensuring program and mission accomplishments are being meet by developing sound solutions and action plans to counteract anticipated problems and enhance existing processes.
I provide actionable acquisition insight to DoD by establishing precedents in application of problem solving, identifying and resolving highly complex issues, defining, and directing or leading highly challenging projects and programs.
DCMA is important to America’s warfighters because we directly contribute to the military and our allies to help preserve the nation’s freedom. DCMA works directly with defense suppliers to help ensure that DoD, federal and allied government supplies and services are delivered on time, at projected cost, and meet all performance requirements. We help ensure the safety of our nation’s men, women and children.
