Time running out to influence change

By Navy Vice Adm. David Lewis DCMA Director

Editor’s Note: Time is running out to ensure your voice is heard. The agency’s Climate Survey will officially close Thursday, Nov. 30. To take the survey or check the agency’s current participation percentage, check out the Survey’s 360 site.

FORT LEE, Va., Nov. 2, 2017 — I am here to ask you for your help. Since my arrival, I have emphasized the importance of communication. The free flow of information is crucial to our organizational health and team member satisfaction.

In March, many of you participated in an organizational climate survey. I provided an overview of the survey results at the agency-wide all hands in July. During that global engagement, I listed my areas of concern and have since directed leaders to address these challenges through action plans. I thank you for your participation — your open and honest feedback provided me with a baseline understanding of the agency’s work-place environment.

Today, I ask you once again to complete a climate survey. After visiting so many of you during my first few months here, I have come to understand the wealth of information and expertise you contribute to our global warfighter support mission. I request you deliver that same level of commitment to our internal support mission by participating in this survey.

My goal is to provide a stellar working environment that perpetuates professional development and reinforces the satisfaction of serving America’s warfighters and taxpayers. I can only do that with your help.

Please take a few minutes and fill out the survey. Hopefully, during my short time here I have proven I am willing to listen and truly care about your opinions. Together we can develop a working environment we can all enjoy and thrive professionally in.

Thank you for your time.
