FORT GREGG-ADAMS, Va. –
The Senate confirmed Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Gregory Masiello Tuesday to be the next Defense Contract Management Agency director. He will be promoted to the grade of lieutenant general and assume leadership of the agency in the coming weeks. Details on the change of leadership ceremony will be provided once finalized.
"Maj. Gen. Masiello is an exceptionally experienced acquisition professional and I am confident he is the right leader to take DCMA forward," said Army Lt. Gen. David Bassett, DCMA director, who will retire from active duty following the change of leadership. Details on General Bassett's retirement will be provided once finalized.
A 1987 Naval Academy grad, Masiello was a distinguished UH-1N and Marine One Helicopter pilot and served in multiple program offices to include PMA-275 as the V-22 Joint Program Manager. His most recent command assignment was with Naval Air Systems Command as Program Executive Officer for Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault & Special Mission Programs.
