DCMA Northeast supports NASA’s Roman Space Telescope
Ken Delfs, a quality assurance specialist at Defense Contract Management Agency Northeast, was part of a team that worked on the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which was used aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket on Aug. 30. Previously, on Nov. 5, 2024, Delfs escorted the shipment, drove on the flightline, and witnessed it being loaded onto an Air Force C-5 Galaxy at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport in Rochester, New York, to go to Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. The telescope is named after Dr. Nancy Grace Roman, who was NASA’s first chief of astronomy. (Photo courtesy of Ken Delfs)
