My DCMA: Roderick Dunmore, program integrator

My DCMA showcases the Defense Contract Management Agency’s experienced and diverse workforce and highlights what being a part of the national defense team means to them. Today, Roderick Dunmore shares his story.

My name is Roderick Dunmore, and this is “My DCMA.”

I am a program integrator at DCMA Aircraft Integrated Maintenance Operation Command Oklahoma City. My job duties include being the DCMA representative to the procuring customer and leading a program support team of highly-talented functional specialists. I also assess contractor performance, predict future performance and make actionable recommendations related to future programmatic efforts based on surveillance results.

I have been a part of the DCMA team for nine years. I like working at DCMA because this organization boasts a wealth of diversity in experience, talent and culture. Some of the great things about working at my location includes the professionalism, positive employee morale and the fact that most of the team connects with each other outside of the office.

DCMA is important to America’s warfighters because it is our contract surveillance, quality assurance, and other areas of expertise that ensure the best product, whether aircraft or equipment, is available to the warfighter at all times.

As the agency evolves, I am excited about the new opportunities and challenges that face the organization as the rest of the federal government gains more confidence and appreciates our contributions to the military service components. Throughout my nine years working at DCMA, I have seen the workforce evolve with the changing missions of the Department of Defense components and programs we have been tasked to oversee.

My future career goals include gaining more proficiency in my current role and obtaining my Project Management Professional certification. Currently, I am working on my Program Manager Level III certification. I hope this year my team and I will continue to excel in our mission and personal career goals.

My favorite hobbies include traveling with my family, playing golf and attending jazz concerts with my wife. Something unique about me is I enjoy eating Filipino cuisine. In addition, 20 years ago I was an Air Force lieutenant stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, working as a deployment officer. The Strategic Command headquarters is located there.
