ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. –
My DCMA showcases the Defense Contract Management Agency’s experienced and diverse workforce and highlights what being a part of the national defense team means to them. Today, Tiffany Rogers shares her story.
My name is Tiffany Rogers, and this is “My DCMA.”
I am an administrative contracting officer with DCMA’s Central Regional Command located in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
The region’s Contracts team provides process and procedural advice to the commander on contract administration and overall contract management matters. Our team provides technical assistance and guidance to 10 contract management offices responsible for 67,624 contracts valued at $726.9 billion. We perform reviews of contract administration workload, resourcing, and performance to determine the overall effectiveness of organizational operations.
In my role, I serve as the region’s performance advocate for funds lifecycle management, contractor business systems, and contracts 180 days past the final delivery date. Additionally, I am the region’s workload acceptance lead for non-mission services. This entails working with contract management offices to re-align resources to support high-value, high-risk work.
I have been a part of the DCMA team for over six years.
I like working at DCMA because it allows me to perform activities that support our troops. I come from a military family. My father served in the Air Force for over 20 years. My brother currently serves as an officer in the Navy. Ultimately, I am inspired each day because my work supports a community that has had a big impact on my life.
DCMA is important to America’s warfighters because this agency ensures our troops receive quality goods and services on time and for a reasonable price. This past year DCMA has evolved quickly to support our personnel, customers and contractors during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have found creative, safe and effective ways to execute our mission. As the agency celebrates its 20th anniversary, I am most excited to see how we will continue to find innovate ways to execute the mission in this constantly changing environment.
Something unique about me is that I have served as a contract administrator, administrative contracting officer, and team lead within DCMA while having the opportunity to work in both a plant and geographic office before coming to the Central Region headquarters. Prior to my employment with DCMA, I served as a government accountant and procuring contract officer. By previously serving in these roles, I bring a unique perspective and can effectively assist and provide technical guidance to the Central Region CMOs I support.
My future career goals include obtaining my certified public accountant license, enrolling in an agency leadership development program and increasing my professional knowledge by taking on new challenges.
When not constrained by a pandemic, a great thing about working at my location is its proximity to Chicago. We are approximately 25 miles away from Chicago, and we have access to some of the best museums, theaters and restaurants in the nation. Chicago is also home to several professional sports teams. Go Bears!
My favorite hobbies include cooking, reading and spending time with my family. During these times, I think it is especially important to remain active and find ways to stay connected.
