Leadership program aims to discover, cultivate future leaders

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — “Always look for ways to improve and extend your knowledge,” said Henry Stewart. “If you think you are good today, plan on being better tomorrow.”

Scott Crofoot, a Defense Contract Management Agency quality assurance specialist, at Fort Lee, Virginia, said it’s important for agency employees to collaborate better with customers to understand their contract requirement expectations.

Detection to prevention: understanding customers’ expectations

FORT LEE, Va. — Surveillance of contractor processes is a more preventive approach than performing inspections to weed out defects that may have already been created.

Employees serve double duty in the reserves, National Guard

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — “I get to work on the world’s most powerful aircraft, travel the world, and further the development of the young men and women who do the same,” said Michael Tibbetts, a DCMA Garden City QA.

Darren Blackwell, Defense Contract Management Agency Operations quality assurance acting director at Fort Lee, Virginia, recently participated in a leadership panel discussion in May at the Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama. Blackwell, who considers himself a DCMA ambassador, has been with the agency for 15 years and mentors employees to help them excel in their careers.
