Defense Contract Management Agency employees from across the nation recently participated in a virtual graduation on August 29, representing the first class from the Emerging Leaders Pilot Program, managed by the Total Force Directorate staff.
The cohort of 47 employees, representing many diverse job series, completed the demanding 18-month leadership development program. During the program, employees took part in Skillsoft training, completed book report assignments, participated in specialized Office of Personnel Management training, and completed other individual and team projects designed to build leadership competencies. In addition to the academic aspect of the program, participants also received mentorship.
“The graduates of the program should be extremely proud of their accomplishments,” said Clint Covert, Total Force Programs Branch team lead. “These men and women represent the future leaders of DCMA and we’re excited to see their contributions to the continued success of our agency.”
Covert also noted 45 percent of the class received a promotion while participating in the program. “It’s an amazing accomplishment, but should come as no surprise,” he added. “The level of professionalism and aptitude displayed over the past 18-months was on full display and we expect great things from these graduates.”
